The Oskie Rice Event Center is pleased to announce the Oskie Rice Memorial 2026 Rodeo will celebrate the historic 110 year anniversary of Kaonoulu Ranch as part of the Festivals of Aloha celebrations this year. The community is invited to help us honor Hawaiian culture, Paniolo heritage, and Rodeo tradition Friday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 25th, 2026.

Kaonoulu Ranch has been a cornerstone of Maui’s Paniolo history, nurturing a deep sense of pride and cultural identity. Purchased in August 1916 by Harold W. “Pop” Rice, the ranch established the foundation for Maui’s rodeo tradition. Over the years, Kaonoulu Ranch has promoted and preserved the Paniolo heritage, becoming the heart of Hawaii’s rodeo community and inspiring lasting respect for these traditions.

The Oskie Rice Memorial Rodeo serves as more than entertainment, functioning as a living classroom where residents and visitors can learn about Hawaii’s ranching history and the skills that remain relevant on working ranches throughout the islands. This year will incorporate the opportunity to enjoy Hawaii’s vibrant traditions with captivating cultural demonstrations and authentic Hawaiian music through the Festivals of Aloha. Attendees can explore hands-on activities and interactive exhibits that showcase the artistry and spirit of the islands.

FRIDAY, October 23rd, the Bull Bash features professional Bull Riders competing on some of the most challenging bulls in the Pacific at 6pm. Catch Match Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Mutton Busting, and more. The gates open at 3pm for pre-rodeo entertainment in the Fan Field with food, local vendors, and DJ Boomshot’s Country Mash-up from 4-5:45pm.

SATURDAY, October 24th, the Saturday Night Memorial Rodeo Performance begins at 6pm and showcases Bull and Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, and more traditional Rodeo events. The gates open at 3pm for pre-rodeo entertainment with family fun in the Fan Field and live music with 808Vibez from 4-5:45pm.
